Guidance and counseling services have much wider scope than merely assisting students in making educational and vocational choices. It helps the students in making the best possible adjustment to the situation in the educational institution and in the home. Moreover, the guidance as an integral part of our educational system and it facilitates overall development of students’ personality. It also a continuous process, aimed at assisting the students to make decision and personal adjustment from time to time.

Rajendran is working as Professor and Head, Centre for Educational Management and Applied Psychology, National Institute of Technical Teachers Training and Research, Chennai – 600 113 (Government of India, Ministry of Human Resource Development). He has 25 years of experience in Teaching and Research. He has been conducting Faculty Development Programme for Polytechnic and Engineering College Teachers in the Southern part of India. His area of interest in training include :“Instructional Design and Delivery System” (IDDS), Soft Skill, Employability Skill, Guidance and Counselling, Application of Digital Technology in Research, Empowering Research with SPSS applications and Stress Management. He has completed more than 120 Training Programmes for Polytechnic Colleges and 52 Engineering Colleges . He is currently Guiding 2 Research Scholars in the area of Engineering Education (already 7 scholars awarded Ph.D. ). He has published 27 Research Article both at National and International level.
